This could decide a lot of things for you, such as the color of the diamond you will be picking. For example, red diamonds are so expensive and rare that a lot of jewelers have never even had one in their store.
The metal you pick for the ring’s band is also very important. When it comes to price, you will have a much easier time here because the changes in price between metals don’t vary nearly as much as they do between colors of stones. You do want to create a color combination that looks great however. One of my favorites has always been platinum and a blue diamond.
While expensive, another great option is to create a ring with three stones rather than just a single stoned solitaire. The best way to do this is to put a large white diamond in the center and put two matching colored stones flanking it. Eye catching would be a great word to describe a ring like this.
Designing your own engagement ring can be extremely romantic and make it special for both of your, however-this endeavor can be very expensive.
